SEPTEMBER GOALS

Sunday 11 September 2016

This year has gone scarily fast. We're about to head into Autumn and I'm not sure how I feel about it. Normally, this is my favourite time of year - seeing the nights get darker, the leaves falling, lusting over the A/W fashion. But for some reason, I'm clinging onto summer. I feel like we didn't have much good weather and without having a summer holiday, I'm longing for some sunshine - I want to be wearing the pretty playsuits I bought for the summer months, not getting ready to dig out the hats and scarves. Anyway, a little off topic as usual but here are my goals for September.

Make some new recipes - I've started to really enjoy cooking, it's so therapeutic. I've been loving the Lean In 15 books and made so many great things by Joe Wicks and excited to try some more. I've also been pining good hearty recipes on Pinterest to cook as the winter months roll in. if you know any great recipes or you've blogged some lately, I'd love to give them a try so please drop me some links below or give me a tweet!

Start building my A/W Wardrobe - I toyed with the idea of creating a capsule wardrobe for winter but the amount of effort and dedication it takes left me thinking "naaaaah". I've got some great coats I've had for years that could be doing with a dry clean so I want to get these looking as good as new and start shopping for some great pieces. Zara, River Island and New Look are hitting the mark for me right now so I can't wait, now payday has finally arrived (praise the lord) to get some key items in that I know I'll wear over the next few months.

Finish decorating - Over the summer, we began to slowly make our house a home and it's looking great. All of our decor is white and grey and I completely love it. Our home is so cosy and I'm really proud of the changes we've made. We've left mundane tasks such as painting windowsills, skirting etc till last and they are driving me mad. So I need to get some motivation and get these done.

Meet my fitness goals - A few months ago, I confronted one of my biggest fears, exercising in front of people - I'm weird, I know. I took the plunge and got myself a gym membership and what do you know, I'm a total gym convert. I love the feeling I get after I've worked out and I decided to enlist the help of a trainer to help build me a program, overhaul my diet and give me that support I feel like I need. I'm starting to reap the benefits and feeling the changes, both mentally and physically, of being in a routine with my personal fitness and it's something I really want to smash in September!

Make more time for my blog - Probably my main goal for this month is to continue to stick back at blogging. Working full time, studying part time, juggling running a home, making time for the gym, opening my own business and starting back blogging again is a lot to take on but I want to keep this burst of enthusiasm I have towards blogging going. It's hard to manage all of the above but it's not until I've began writing and engaging with other bloggers again that I realise just how much I've missed it. I want to get more organised, up my photography, make more time for chats and engage more with the blogging community.

I'm excited to see what September brings! My goals aren't something thats unachievable but I love making them, just to give myself a purpose to learn something or keep momentum going. What do you want to achieve this month? As always, I'd love to hear your thoughts below or you can tweet/IG me at @whatamydidblog. Thanks for reading!

  4. Great goals! I was trying to create capsule wardrobe and despite the fact that I do live quite minimalistic life it did not work for me. Scotland is way to unpredictable in terms of weather and temperatures to have a capsule wardrobe. Best Wishes, Iga x http://igaberry.com

  5. Basically we've got 4 goals in common ahah! Getting ready for autumn, finishing painting my bedroom light grey instead of this terrible fuchsia, sticking to exercising 3 times a week and developing my blog - among other things - are all I'd like to do this September onwards. It's difficult but with a lot of organisation we can do it 💪 x
